Women’s Pension Gap, Investing and The Care Penalty

My guest this week is Emma-Lou Montgomery, Associate Director of Personal Investing at Fidelity International. As part of the Women and Money campaign team at Fidelity International, Emma-Lou is on a mission to unlock women’s financial power through investing.

Fidelity International’s ‘Financial Power of Women’ 2018 report uncovers the real barriers for women when it comes to investing for their future, myth busts the gender misconceptions and provides valuable insights for all of us looking to make positive change.

In this episode, we discuss how women can invest more when they earn less and how to talk about money in relationships. We talk about how by 2025, 60% of the UK’s wealth will be managed by women and how it could change the financial and economic landscape. We also myth bust common gender misconceptions and explore ways to overcome the real barriers for women to get invested.
